RI Businessman Chad A. Verdi and Filmmaker Michael Corrente plan five major motion pictures filmed in RI through Verdi, Corrente Productions, LLC.

THE INCREDIBLE COMEBACK AND TRUE STORY OF VINNY PAZ WILL BE FIRST TO MAKE IT TO THE BIG SCREEN!

VCP will produce and film five major motion pictures in Rhode Island starting in early 2010. "The True Story of Vinny Paz" an inspirational, feel good movie will be the first in this partnership.

For those not familiar with his dramatic life, Pazienza was a tough-as-nails Italian-American who beat the odds to become a world championship boxer in the late '80s and early '90s, only to have his success snatched away in a near-fatal car accident. He was told he may never walk again. Yet, true to his reputation as an individual that never gives up and is will doing anything to succeed, Vinny Paz rebounded to recapture in miraculous fashion his title as world champion. Hence, the reason why many call him the subject of sports' "greatest comeback."

The remaining slate of films are written and in various stages of development.

Verdi, a RI businessman who has been involved with over $750 million in business mergers, reverse mergers, start ups and acquisitions over the last ten years, will co-produce each film. Verdi currently owns, co-owns or has investments in over a dozen businesses in diversified industries with over 500 local employees and sales of over $100 million nationwide.

Corrente, a 20-year veteran in the film and entertainment industry, is thrilled to partner with Verdi. "It is very exciting to have a partner who understands the world of finance as well as I understand the world of independent film."

The Rhode Island-born director and producer's work includes "A Shot at Glory," "American Buffalo," "Outside Providence," "Brooklyn Rules," and "Federal Hill" (winner at Avignon and Deauville Film Festivals). The Vinnie Paz film will be produced by Corrente and Verdi and directed by Glenn Ciano. Ciano has worked closely with Michael Corrente during the past 15 years and this marks his feature film directorial debut. Ciano has worked hard at shaping the screenplay and fully understands what makes a film work from the page to the screen.

LDI is casting the film and we are in negations with several actors currently. Filming will begin early 2010 and the project is fully funded.
